Rental Period
An art rental period is three months long with no limit to the number of rental terms a business or individual can acquire.
Payments are to be made at the beginning of each rental period including the cost of art rental, rental deposit plus the installation fee. For rental approval, the ARTS Rental Service requires an acceptable form of Identity, a completed Art Rental Agreement Form and rental deposit equal to 1 month rent. The cost of the ARTS Rental Service is 7% of the total cost of all art and design work.
Rent To Buy
Clients may indicate interest to purchase any pieces at any time during their rental period. After installation there is a 1 month window to apply 100% of the rental fee of a piece towards its purchase. Thereafter 50% of the rental fee is applied to the purchase of an item. The Rent to Buy fee begins at 7% of the cost of the artwork per month.
Try Before You Buy
The try before you buy facility is only applicable to outright purchases. Clients wishing to make a full payment towards artwork may "try out" a particular piece of artwork in their home or workspace for a period of 1 month paying a monthly trial fee equal to 7% of the cost.
This facility is available at the discretion of the curatorial team.
Indemnity
ARTS Rental Service is responsible for the safe delivery, installation and removal of art.
The client is responsible for the artworks in their care during their rental period.
Any artwork damaged, destroyed or lost during the rental period is considered as bought. If the artwork was leased under Rental Period or Try before You Buy, the client will be required to make a full payment towards the piece. If the item in question was under Rent to Buy, the outstanding balance after deducting payments made through rental fee is applied. In all instances the deposit, which is one month rent, is forfeited.
